As Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, we have undertaken one of Turkey's first and most innovative aviation projects. A wide-body Airbus A340 aircraft located in the Çayırova district has been transformed into a world-unique Aviation Science Center, in line with the vision of the "National Technology Initiative."
This unique project was implemented entirely with domestic and national resources, drawing on our country's skilled workforce and the design and production capabilities of our local companies. Our goal is to provide our visitors with the opportunity to experience aviation science in a hands-on and interactive way.
Structure of Our Facility:
Our center, which covers a total area of 470 m², consists of two main sections:
- Science Center (250 m²): The main body of the aircraft houses 55 interactive exhibition units in 8 different themes.
- Museum and Workshop Area (220 m²): The pavilion area under the aircraft is designed for visitor reception, aircraft museum and creative workshops.
Visitor Experience:
Your journey through our center begins at a dedicated tower in the aircraft's tail section. Visitors embark on a journey through aviation history, moving through thematic experience areas ranging from the theory and anatomy of flight to engine technologies and piloting. This experience is further enhanced by a museum displaying real aircraft parts and a flight simulator.
